The French-bred Alterite is the 3/1 morning line favorite for trainer Chad Brown, but must shake off some rust as she makes her first start since a third place finish in the Grade I Breeder’s Cup Filly and Mare Turf at Santa Anita last November. Alterite is a Grade I winner, taking the Garden City Stakes last fall at Belmont and Group I placed in her native country.
The Bill Mott trainee Emollient looks to be regaining her best form after a second place finish in the Grade I Gamely Stakes at Santa Anita May 26 which was her last start. Emollient is also a grade I winner, having won the American Oaks last year for the same connections. Joel Rosario will take the mount.
Speedster Discreet Marq (5/1 ML) usually shows up with her running shoes on and figures to be on or near the early lead again for trainer Christophe Clement. Discreet Marq will be making her fourth consecutive start in a Grade I race after notching two second place finishes and a fourth against top company in her last three efforts. Stephanie’s Kitten (6/1) has back class to spare, but is looking to regain her form after two disappointing efforts in the Grade I Jenny Wiley and Grade I Just a Game for trainer Chad Brown.
